Ambergris Cay is located about 600 miles southeast of Miami, Florida and 100 miles north of the Dominican Republic. The island sits on the southeast corner of the string of Turks and Caicos Islands that surrounds the world-famous Caicos Banks, whose shallow turquoise blue waters and surrounding reefs are so brilliant, they can be seen from space.
Ambergris Cay has been a private island since its purchase in 1811 and saw little development until the late 20th century when modern infrastructure was put into place, catering to an upscale clientele looking for privacy and rustic Caribbean charm.
Complimentary roundtrip private air transfers from Providenciales International Airport in Turks and Caicos (PLS) is provided for guests of Ambergris Cay.
Restaurants
Calico Jack – Calico Jack is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner serving Caribbean and international cuisine, gourmet à la carte fine dining and theme nights with seasonal specials such as seafood paella and grilled lobster. Open daily from 7am – 11:00am, 12:00noon – 4pm and 6pm – 10:00pm. Snacks and treats are available 24 hours between meals at the snack station. Calico Jack is a short walk along the waterfront boardwalk from the 1-Bedroom BeachFront Suites located on nearby Monck Beach.
Club House – The Club House is open 11am – 6pm and serves up a daily menu of grilled light fare, burgers, paninis, salads and fun food for all ages. The Club House is located about 5 minutes away from Monck Beach and the Calico Jack Pavilion by golf cart and offers a beach club with beach chairs and umbrellas, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, and an activity centre with pool and ping-pong tables, video games and board games.
Villas
The villa experience at Ambergris Cay is unlike any other in the Caribbean: An idyllic and serene getaway for friends and family in luxury accommodations surrounded by untouched natural environment of a private island. With only twenty 3- and 4-bedroom villas dotted along the shore of this 3-mile long private island, discretion and privacy are well appreciated. Each villa features ocean view or ocean front vistas, complimentary golf carts, butler service, daily housekeeping, all-inclusive meals and premium drinks, free WiFi and all the included activities that Ambergris Cay has to offer. Complimentary round-trip air transfers are provided as well for all villa guests from Providenciales International Airport (PLS) for the 18-minute flight to our private airport whose 5,700 ft.-long runway is also suitable for private jet arrivals.
Each of the 10 1-Bedroom BeachFront Suites offer stunning beach and ocean views, a luminous interior surrounded by windows on 3 sides, contemporary Caribbean décor with high ceilings, king bed facing the ocean, sofa and seating area, large wrap-around veranda with seating, custom-designed furniture, recessed flat screen TV with international channels, electronic remote controls, Nespresso coffee machine and electric tea kettle, stocked mini-fridge, wet bar, a laptop-size mini safe, modern bathroom with double sinks, double rain shower heads, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, outdoor shower and a private plunge pool facing the beach. The surrounding landscaping employs native species of plants and cactus.
